This is fantastic!
I have had some experiences on on-line applications with sharing of ideas/documents but Wikis just blow me away. And it being web-based, where accessibility is key, it makes collaboration and sharing of ideas so so easy.
I think I can use this to coordinate my next overseas trip with friends in Sydney. YEH!

Library 2.0 and Web 2.0
I believe libraries have to be "human". What I mean is, it is essential to have the "human contact". For example, I really enjoy the face-to-face contact with my patrons/customers, to find out what books they have read, how are their grandchildren or kids, how did the recipe go in the latest cooking book they borrowed, etc. etc....
Don't get me wrong, I truly embrace the web, it has been truly fantastic, with my daughter's homework, with our overseas travel etc. and the fun I have experienced. Everything is just a 'key-stroke away!
Learning 2.0 has opened huge areas of the web I didn't know about, from tools, to concepts and ideas, it has been a rewarding experience. I highly recommend that Learning 2.0 be part of the new staff induction program, allowing librarians/officers to embrace Web2.0 tools to better service/help our patrons. But don't forget the 'human' side, being caring, friendly and welcoming.

No One Cares What You Had for Lunch
One of my colleagues highlighted this book for me. I thought it appropriate to include it in my blog. I had a lot of fun reading it. You may find it interesting too, check it on out in the margin of my blog.

Network Badging, Del.icio.us etc. etc.
Wow, this is very neat.
Great for storing bookmarks and then able to retrieve them anywhere in the internet world! I think I have to develop the habit of "bookmarking" which then allows me to find the things I have marked. How many times have we/I seen something and then forgotten about it and then something triggers of a memory and then we go searching again! If this stuff could be put in a place retrieval would be "simple"!

Blog a Blogging Along about Technology
I think the one technology I really depend on and probably can't live without is email.
Imagine in the "old days", to stay connected with family and friends we had only "snail mail"! With the arrival of email, faxes, cable etc. have been left by the wayside of the technology highway; now, we are connected not only with our next-door neighbour but also with those who live over the otherside of the world.
Plus with the advance of technology, not only can we communicate through email, we now can do so with visual communication tools like Skype! This adds another dimension to "staying connected".

Library Thing to GO
I just had a great fun linking into www.librarything.com
Why I think this tool is so good? I'm an avid reader and since 1987 I've kept a record of every book I've read manually of course! If this tool was around then, can you imagine, not just listing of all books but sharing reviews with other readers, etc.

Happy Halloween
We went to a Halloween party last weekend. It was fun dressing up as witches. We certainly got a lot of people staring at us while driving there.
Look! This is what I did to my poor angelic daughter! Poor thing...! She really didn't deserve it.
On a learning note, I'm getting the hang of it, with a lot of help from my colleagues!
